Background
The programme was developed
with a grant from the Skills Development Fund (SDF) and
is approved by the Healthcare Training Advisory Committee
of the Institute of Technical Education (ITE).
The Certificate in Healthcare
is issued by the ITE under its service skills training
scheme and is recognised by both private hospitals and
doctors. It is an excellent way for you to enhance your
existing net worth.
Entry Requirements
The programme accepts
healthcare assistants who:
1) have completed Secondary

2) have secured a training
job
3) are Singaporeans, Permanent Residents or foreigners on work permit (must be valid until the end of the course).
Training
Trainees need to complete
2 components i.e. 3 modules (which include lectures and
workshops) and the Supervised Field Training within
a one-year period.
- Healthcare Assistants
in private clinics need to complete the Basic Healthcare
Module ,Outpatient Care Module and Clinic Dispensing
Module plus the Supervised Field Training.
- Healthcare Assistants
in hospital wards need to complete the Basic Healthcare
Module, Inpatient Care Module and Home & Inpatient
Care Module. (For more info, please contact any private

The ITE Certificate in
Healthcare will be issued upon successful completion/passing
of: 1) CPR Module (upon
successful completion of the CPR practical and theory
tests, certification which is valid for 2 years will
be issued).
2) Supervised Field
Training.
3) Practical Tests
4) ITE Multiple Choice
Questions Examinations
a) SDF Grant (See Explanatory Note in Brochure)
The programme is supported by the Skill Development Fund (SDF). A subsidy of $7 per trainee hour is provided for company sponsored trainee(s) if the trainee has attained 75% of class attendance and sat for the examinations. Only Singaporeans / Permanent Residents are eligible for the SDF subsidy.
Companies applying for the SDF subsidy, please register for an EasyNet account at www.sdf.gov.sg (compulsory).
b) SMA-ITE Traineeship Scheme in ISC Health Care (Out-patient)
Clinics are eligible to apply for further grant for On-The-Job Training under the ITE Traineeship Scheme. Please CLICK HERE for more information on the ITE Traineeship Scheme.
