St Andrew's Community Hospital is a service of St Andrew's Mission Hospital (SAMH). SAMH was founded in 1913 by Dr Charlotte Ferguson-Davie, wife of the then Bishop of Singapore, to meet the medical needs of poor women and children with no access to health care.

Today, St Andrew's Community Hospital (SACH) continues that mission of shining light into the darkness of disease, pain and suffering by providing rehabilitative, post-acute and palliative inpatient care, as well as community care (outpatient clinic, centre-based rehabilitation and daycare and homecare).

Located in Simei and partnered with Changi General Hospital (CGH), the hospital is expanding its services to meet the growing needs of the community.

Job Description / Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Palliative Services of SACH is seeking a full-time Palliative Care Physician at the Assistant Consultant or Consultant level. The successful candidate would be welcomed as a physician leader on the palliative care team, which includes Resident Physician / Medical Officer, Nurse Manager, Advance Practice Nurse, Medical Social Worker, Physiotherapist, Occupational Therapist, Music Therapist, Pastoral Care Staff and Volunteers. Depending on interest and expertise, involvement in the hospital's palliative homecare programme is a possibility.

Reporting to the hospital's Sr Consultant and Director of Palliative Services, the responsibilities include the provision of excellent palliative care in SACH's inpatient subacute palliative care unit, as well as medical teaching and clinical training.

As a member of the palliative leadership team, you will help provide strategic and clinical direction for our palliative services which result in the delivery of an effective, efficient and compassionate service that is consistent with the core values of the hospital.

 

Pre-requisites

  • M.B.B.S
  • Recognized post-graduate training in Palliative Medicine
  • Accredited as a Palliative Specialist by the Specialist Accreditation Board, Ministry of Health
  • Able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
