Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) & Estate Planning Talk for Doctors
Doctors spend their lives making critical decisions for others — but few have formalised who can decide for them if they lose mental capacity.
This session provides a clear, practical walkthrough of the Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) and how it fits into a broader estate planning framework. Participants will understand:
- What an LPA is, and when it takes effect
- The difference between LPA Form 1 vs Form 2, and which is suitable for most doctors
- How to appoint donees properly, common mistakes to avoid, and key considerations unique to healthcare professionals
- Why an LPA alone is insufficient without proper estate planning (Wills, nominations, funding)
The session will also highlight that the government LPA application fee waiver for Singapore Citizens is not guaranteed to be extended beyond the current period, making this a timely opportunity for doctors and staff who have yet to complete their LPA.
As part of this collaboration, attendees will be offered complimentary LPA certification for themselves and their immediate family, conducted by an accredited Certificate Issuer Dr U-Jin Chow, removing the usual professional certification cost.
The talk is conducted by FinGroup, a doctor focused one-stop consultancy founded by a medical doctor.
LPA certification will be provided complimentary for SMA members and 1 other family member.
The Singapore government has waived the $70 Application Fee for LPA Form 1 for all Singapore Citizens until 31 March 2026. Don't miss out! Get yours done by 13 Feb 2026 to make the most of it!
