Clinical Assistant Professor / Clinical Associate Professor / Clinical Professor

You will be performing clinical duties at one or more of our four affiliate teaching hospitals: https://hkuhs.med.hku.hk/en/Service-Unit/HKU-Clinical-Academic-Unit. You may also be allowed to undertake clinical outside practice at these hospitals and receive additional remuneration on top of your HKUMed salary.

You may be able to obtain full medical registration in Hong Kong without the need to undergo local licensing examinations after working with us for at least 5 years under the new regulatory regime of the HKSAR Government.

You should have a sustained record of excellence in one or more of the following areas:

1. Clinical Services
2. Teaching and Learning
3. Knowledge Exchange and Services
4. Research (basic science, translational and/or clinical research)

You should process a medical qualification with demonstrated post-qualification clinical experience, and a specialist qualification in the relevant discipline. Applicants without specialist qualifications may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

HKUMed offers a highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.  The mid-point of the basic salary range of our clinical professoriate at different ranks are as follows:

Clinical Assistant Professor: ~USD13,000 per month 

Clinical Associate Professor: ~USD20,000 per month

Clinical Professor:                   ~USD25,000 per month

In addition, you will receive clinical cash allowance (11% – 26% of basic salary), on-call allowance (if applicable), housing benefit, contract-end gratuity, and medical and dental benefits to you and your family members.  Relocation assistance will be provided to mainland and overseas appointees to move to Hong Kong and settle in.
