SMC scam alert – impersonation of doctors

The Singapore Medical Council (SMC) has warned of scammers posing as SMC-registered doctors, using forged Certificates of Registration and electronic Practising Certificates to fraudulently offer medical services. Such impersonation is a criminal offence carrying a fine of up to $100,000, up to 12 months' imprisonment, or both.

Members are reminded to verify any individual's registration status via SMC's online register. Do not share personal information or make payments to unverified practitioners.
